Chestnuts Roasting on a Car Engine!

Oh yes, that is my car engine. I heard this awful bumping noise that scared the life out of me while I was driving on Saturday. I worried about it all day Sunday and didn't drive anywhere. I checked to make sure my bike tires were properly inflated. I drove to the dealership. I explained to service that I heard this weird bumping, popping noise.

We opened the trunk, and voila! Walnuts galore! Fortunately this turned out to be one of the easiest repairs ever. We pulled about 80 nuts from my engine block and surrounding areas.

There is going to be one mighty pissed squirrel in my neighborhood!

Taking the whole family on vacation

Wondering where to take your vacation? Worried that Fido will miss you so much (or vice versa) that maybe you want to take him/her with you? Yea?

Well, then here is an article for you! They have surveyed folks with pets to find the ones that welcome pets, not just tolerate them. After all they are part of the family! At the bottom of the article are the top ten vote getters.

Or check this site out for other pet friendly establishments. I'm glad that businesses are making the connection that good service includes taking care of the entire family!

An odd form of customer service...

This photo was taken from the window of a "beauty salon" that is next to an Indian grocery store that I shop at. The sign reads,
'Attention Patrons
There is no loitering outside of the salon
Please smoke in the back!!
Thank you
Management'

Hmmm. I haven't been inside, and frankly, I'm a little scared. So, I just move on inside to the grocery store grateful that I gave up cigarettes years ago!

Then, da-da-da-dum-da-daaa!  My hair stylist moved to a new location! Imagine my fear when he told he moved to a location on the same corner as this "salon". I was ever so thankful when I learned that it was NOT this salon. When I called to make my first appointment I was told that this salon had not had their lease renewed. Huh, wonder why?
